... takes care of unique international analog media collections: e.g., the ‘video collection’. over the past forty years it has been collecting, archiving, and showing films and videos by international women artists and filmmakers and making them available to public by way of on-site viewing opportunities and experimental formats such as ‘swarm viewings’, ‘denkarien’ (video-pensives), or a digital video lock. a selection of videos from the video calendar will be presented and viewed together: www.bildwechsel.org/videokalender2023/.

since 1979, bildwechsel’s archives have also provided a framework and a space for women artists, activists, and researchers to meet, think, and act together – both nationally and internationally. all this is organized and carried out by the artists themselves in ever-changing configurations. an overview of all activities can be found at www.bildwechsel.org.
